Under our Executive Head Chef, John McMahon, our young and enthusiastic brigade of chefs get to work with some of Scotland’s finest food produce every day and deliver some outstanding restaurant dishes with it. Our kitchens are bright and spacious with all the latest induction kit and a dedicated kitchen for groups and private dining menus. Rhubarb also has its own party chefs and a dedicated pastry kitchen which even has a view of our own rhubarb patch!
Rhubarb has probably the best restaurant wine cellar in the city with a raft of international accolades to say so and plenty of internationally-renowned winemakers feature in our guest book. With wines from around the world, including many of the wine world’s most famous names and vintages, working with this collection is a great way to broaden your wine knowledge. At Rhubarb many of our guests are really interested in great wines, so you’d be pulling interesting bottles off of the cellar racks daily. Our wines are either collected by James Thomson or selected from the thousands of wines we are offered by our renowned wine buyer, John Power.
Our bartenders don’t only get to work with a great collection of wine but a huge array of malt whiskies, premium spirits and other drinks. Classic cocktails are popular with diners but expect to pour a lot of Champagne, the house Champagne the refined Billecart-Salmon.
Restaurants don’t get more glamorous than Rhubarb so you’ll have an exceptional stage on which to put your hospitality skills to work. Despite the splendour Rhubarb has a fun and relaxed vibe and our front of house team play a huge part in creating that atmosphere, as well as delivering the exceptional service that our guests expect.
Lots of other roles contribute to the great dining experience guests find at Rhubarb. We’ve a skilled reservations team who handle bookings and special requests, our events team manage every tiny detail for guests using our private dining rooms and the first-and-last person you’ll see on your visit will be our famous porters, known for the flair of their black kilts and their warm welcome!
